The Fabry Registry is a global outcome assessment and disease management program that was created to be used as a resource to help optimize patient care. The data that is collected is from all participating physicians who currently are involved in managing patients with Fabry disease.
It needs to be pointed out that the Registry is sponsored by Genzyme Corporation and managed by an independent Advisory Board. Since the objective of the Registry is to get a better understanding of the disease, all patients, regardless of being on therapy, are encouraged to participate.
The primary objectives of the Registry are:
- To increase the understanding of the variability and complexity of Fabry disease
- To provide the Fabry medical community with recommendations for treating and monitoring patients that will provide the best care possible.
